Year 3 Build 3D Models from 2D Shapes!

Year 3 have been learning how to create 3D models using 2D shapes as part of their maths learning. The children explored how flat shapes can be folded, joined and combined to form 3D objects, such as cubes and pyramids. This practical approach helped develop their spatial awareness, problem-solving skills and understanding of shape properties, while encouraging teamwork and creativity.

Year 1 Create 3D Drawings!

Year 1 had a great time creating 3D drawings using coloured card paper. They experimented with different shapes, including spirals, bridges and towers, developing their creativity and fine motor skills. Each child created their own unique masterpiece, showing imagination and enthusiasm throughout the activity.

Year 2 Take Flight in History and Art!

Year 2 recently took to the skies, blending history and art to explore the pioneers of aviation. The children learned about the Wright brothers’ first powered flight and the inspiring bravery of Bessie Coleman, the first African American woman to earn a pilot’s licence. To bring their learning to life, the children used playdough to engineer their own aircraft models, developing fine motor skills while discussing how perseverance and clever design helped change the world.

Reception Create Minibeasts with Clay!

Continuing their learning about minibeasts, Reception spent the week creating butterflies, caterpillars and spiders using clay. This hands-on activity helped the children develop fine motor skills and creativity while deepening their understanding of different minibeasts.
