A Visit from a French School!

This week, we were delighted to welcome visitors from a French school to join our pupils for a range of exciting activities. The children enjoyed spending time together through creative art activities and outdoor learning in the Peace Garden. Our school choir also performed fantastically for our special guests. It was wonderful to see friendships being formed, cultures being shared, and pupils working together with confidence and enthusiasm.

Year 6 - Exploring the History of Bank Notes

This week, Year 6 embarked on an exciting journey into the world of banknotes, discovering their purpose, unique features and fascinating historical importance. As part of their learning, the children became designers themselves, creating their own imaginative pound notes inspired by influential historical figures they believed deserved recognition. They carefully considered every detail, from security features and symbols to colour schemes and portraits, thoughtfully explaining the reasoning behind their choices. It was wonderful to see the pupils combine creativity with critical thinking, producing impressive designs that reflected both their artistic talents and their growing understanding of history and currency. We were incredibly proud of their enthusiasm, originality and thoughtful ideas throughout the project.
