Year 1 - Making Puppets!
Year 1 took on a fantastic hands-on challenge for Art Drop Down Day by learning how to sew their own puppets. The children practised threading needles, joining fabric pieces, and adding buttons and features to bring their characters to life. With patience, teamwork, and a lot of concentration, they created unique puppets full of personality. We were so impressed by their perseverance and creativity — these charming puppets will make a wonderful addition to our art display!
Reception - Making Mr Grumpy's Motor Car!
Reception had an exciting start to their Art Drop Down day as they began building their very own versions of Mr Grumpy’s Motor Car! Inspired by the story, the children planned and constructed models using a selection of recycled materials, paint, and plenty of imaginative thinking. They worked collaboratively to assemble wheels, windows, and bright decorations, and they loved bringing a familiar character’s vehicle to life in 3D form. We can’t wait to see the finished cars zooming into our gallery soon!
Nursery - Making Animal Silhouettes!
Nursery had a wonderful time during our Art Drop Down activity this week, where children experimented with shape and shadow to create striking animal silhouette artwork. Using paints, coloured paper, and a variety of animal outlines, our youngest artists explored contrast and composition in a playful and hands-on way. Their finished pieces look fantastic and really highlight their growing confidence with creative materials!
Student Council Selects the Competition Winners!
Our School Council took on an important task this week as they carefully reviewed entries for our Anti-Bullying Poster Competition. The children showed great maturity and thoughtfulness while choosing designs that best represented kindness, inclusion, and standing up for others.
