Year 5 - Electricity and Experiments

It's been all about science in our Year 5 class, and our students put on their scientist caps to administer their very own experiments all revolving around electricity, including metal and thermal conductors. In particular, our students were focusing in on the question: why is pencil lead a conductor, and diamond not a conductor, when they're both made from carbon atoms? That's definitely a question to tickle our brains...

Year 3 - Cooking Show Role Plays!

The food-related fun continued this week in our Year 3 class who, as part of their English lesson, wrote their very own MasterChef cooking show scripts! After looking at a sample and watching a clip, our Year 3 students put on their acting hats and they did an absolutely fantastic job. With contestants, chefs and judges, it certainly seemed as if we'd stepped right onto the set of a famous cooking show too!

Year 4 - Ancient Sumerian Name Carvings!

Beautiful artwork was created by our Year 4 students, who put their creativity and imagination into carving their names into clay! But not just any names, our Year 4 class travelled back to the time of the Ancient Sumerians and transcribed their names using their alphabet-cuneiforms (languages using logos instead of words, which were particularly prominent in the Ancient Middle East). We think our Year 4 students did a great job, and it's been a treat to learn all about Sumerian civilisation and history along with them too!

Our feathery friend visited us in our playground during lunchtime, and our students were absolutely thrilled with its arrival!
