Year 2 - Community Care Signs

There are so many ways to take care of a community - from picking up rubbish to aiding neighbours - and our Year 2 students explored how to be good citizens through crafting their very own community care signs. Spreading messages such as 'no picking flowers', 'no littering' and more, our students were able to reflect on the different things that they can do to help brighten their surroundings.

Year 1 - Kandinsky-Inspired Artwork

Wassily Kandinsky - Russian painter and art theorist - has been at the centre of our Year 1's art lessons. His abstract designs involve a variety of shapes and colours, and this week, our Year 1 class got to work imitating his artwork to create their very own abstract creations. And we think they've done an absolutely fantastic job!

Year 5 - Discovering the History of the School!

Barnet Hill Academy, or at least, our school building, has seen a lot of history of its own. While the name of the school is fairly new, the roots of the school go all the way back to WWI and WWII! We've even got an air-raid shelter tucked away inside. With so much historical sources at their fingertips, our Year 5 students got to work exploring BHA's past.
