Nursery - Reading in the Library!
Nursery had a lovely time visiting the school library this week, where the children enjoyed exploring a range of colourful and engaging books together. They listened carefully to stories, talked about their favourite characters, and practised turning pages and handling books with care. The visit helped to encourage a love of reading while developing the children’s language, listening, and imagination skills in a calm and welcoming environment.
Bikeability!
This week, children from different year groups have been taking part in our Bikeability workshop, where they have been developing their cycling skills and learning how to ride safely and confidently. The sessions have been a fantastic opportunity for pupils to build their confidence, improve their coordination, and enjoy being active outdoors. It has been lovely to see the children encouraging one another and celebrating each other’s progress throughout the workshop.
Year 4 - Viking Workshop
Year 4 had a fantastic and enriching trip to Gunnersbury Park Museum as part of their History topic on the Vikings. During the visit, the children stepped into the shoes of Viking raiders through exciting role-play, helping them understand why Vikings were so famously known for their raids. They also explored a range of Viking artefacts, learning to identify and discuss primary and secondary sources like real historians.
Year 3 - Learning about Ancient History!
This week, Year 3 have been immersing themselves in their history learning by exploring Ancient Egypt and creating their own Egyptian-style scrolls. The children drew inspiration from traditional hieroglyphics and ancient storytelling, carefully designing and illustrating their scrolls with great attention to detail. They showed fantastic creativity and enthusiasm as they learned about how information was recorded in the past, and it was wonderful to see them take pride in their finished pieces.
