Year 1 - Mixing Colours!

Year 1 had a wonderful time becoming little artists this week as they explored the magic of mixing colours! The children discovered how primary colours can be combined to create exciting new shades, and their faces lit up with delight as reds, blues, and yellows transformed into greens, purples, and oranges. With their new colours ready, they set to work creating beautiful paintings, proudly showing off their creativity and imagination.

Year 3 - Prehistoric Bird Art!

Year 3 have been stepping back in time to explore the fascinating world of prehistoric art. They learned how early humans used natural materials to create artwork on cave walls and how animals often featured in their designs. Inspired by this, the children set about designing their very own pieces of prehistoric bird art, using bold shapes and patterns to bring their creations to life. The results were imaginative, striking, and a wonderful celebration of their learning!

Year 6 - Learning about WWII

This term, Year 6 have launched into an exciting new history topic all about World War II and its impact on the people of Britain. The children have been curious historians—exploring the causes of the war, uncovering the key events that led up to it, and discovering how everyday life was affected during this time. To bring their learning to life, they created detailed and thoughtful timelines, showcasing the significant moments that shaped this period in history.

Year 5 - An Assembly on Ancient Baghdad!

This week, Year 5 impressed the whole school with a brilliant assembly all about the Ancient Baghdad civilisation. The children brought history to life as they shared fascinating facts about the city’s achievements in science, medicine, art, and education during the Islamic Golden Age. Through confident speaking, creative props, and even a some great performances, they helped us all understand why Baghdad was once one of the most advanced cities in the world. A huge well done to Year 5 for their hard work and enthusiasm — it was both educational and entertaining!
