Year 4 - Black History Month / Nelson Mandela
Year 4 celebrated Black History Day by learning about Nelson Mandela and his lifelong fight for equality and justice. Pupils reflected on his perseverance and kindness, creating thoughtful work that highlighted the importance of fairness, courage, and forgiveness.
Reception - Going on an Autumn Walk!
Reception enjoyed a lovely autumn walk this week, exploring the changing season all around them. They collected colourful leaves, spotted signs of autumn, and used their senses to describe what they saw, heard, and felt — a wonderful hands-on learning experience!
Year 2 - Black History Month / Sunset Paintings!
To mark Black History Month, Year 2 created stunning African sunset landscapes. Using bold colours and silhouette shapes, they captured the beauty and warmth of African scenery while learning about the rich and diverse cultures that inspire their art. The finished pieces were truly eye-catching!
Nursery - Black History Month / Mansa Musa
As part of Black History Month, our Nursery children learned about Mansa Musa, the great king of Mali known for his kindness and generosity. They enjoyed hearing stories about his golden kingdom, exploring African patterns and colours, and creating their own bright artwork inspired by his incredible journey. It was a wonderful way to introduce them to an important figure from history!
