Year 4 and 5 - VR Workshop!
Year 4 had an unforgettable experience this week exploring the wonders of the rainforest through a virtual reality workshop. With VR headsets on, the children were transported deep into the lush, green canopy, surrounded by exotic plants and animals.
Year 5 have wowed us with their fantastic geography projects all about the Alps. Over the holidays, they researched this stunning mountain range, exploring topics such as tourism, climate, wildlife, and how people live in alpine regions. Their models, posters, and presentations were full of detail and creativity, showing a deep understanding of the topic. It was clear how much effort and enthusiasm went into their work — well done, Year 5!
Year 1 and 2 - Mad Science Workshop!
Year 1 had a fantastic time in their Mad Science workshop this week! They learned about atoms — the tiny building blocks of everything — and used marshmallows and toothpicks to build their own molecule models. The highlight of the session was making slime with PVA glue and borax, exploring how different materials combine to create something new. It was a fun, hands-on way to bring science to life! Not to be outdone, Year 2 became mini scientists too, building molecule models and discovering how atoms link together to make all sorts of amazing things!
Nursery - Dentistry Workshop!
Nursery had a fun and educational visit from a dentist this week, all about how to keep our teeth healthy. The children learned about the importance of brushing twice a day, eating tooth-friendly foods, and visiting the dentist regularly. They enjoyed taking part in practical demonstrations and were fascinated by the oversized toothbrushes and models of teeth! It was a lovely session that encouraged great dental habits in our youngest learners.
Reception - A Visit from Age UK Barnet!
Reception had a very special visit from Age UK Barnet this week to help create a beautiful Friendship Tree. The children worked alongside older visitors to decorate leaves with kind words, drawings, and messages about friendship. It was heartwarming to see the children and adults sharing stories and laughter as they worked together. The finished tree is now proudly displayed in the classroom as a reminder of the joy that comes from kindness and connection.
