Reception - Reading
This week in Reception, the children enjoyed reading the story Hello Friend and thinking carefully about what makes a good friend. Their discussions were full of thoughtful ideas—like being kind, sharing, listening, and helping each other. To celebrate their friendships, the children created wonderful pieces of artwork showing themselves with their friends. The classroom has been filled with bright, happy pictures and even brighter smiles as the children proudly shared their creations.
Year 2 - Colour Hunt!
Year 2 had great fun this week becoming colour detectives! Armed with their keen eyes and plenty of curiosity, the children explored the classroom to spot as many different colours as they could find. From bright blues and sunny yellows to soft greens and bold reds, they were amazed at just how many shades surrounded them every day. After their hunt, the children carefully recorded their discoveries, turning their colourful observations into wonderful word lists to share.
Year 1 - Mixing Colours!
Year 1 had a wonderful time becoming little artists this week as they explored the magic of mixing colours! The children discovered how primary colours can be combined to create exciting new shades, and their faces lit up with delight as reds, blues, and yellows transformed into greens, purples, and oranges. With their new colours ready, they set to work creating beautiful paintings, proudly showing off their creativity and imagination.
Year 3 - Prehistoric Bird Art!
Year 3 have been stepping back in time to explore the fascinating world of prehistoric art. They learned how early humans used natural materials to create artwork on cave walls and how animals often featured in their designs. Inspired by this, the children set about designing their very own pieces of prehistoric bird art, using bold shapes and patterns to bring their creations to life. The results were imaginative, striking, and a wonderful celebration of their learning!
