Year 5 - Beginning to Paint our Jugs!
You watched them design their ideas. You watched them apply mod roc. And now we present to you the beginning of Year 5 painting their Greek jugs. The Greeks were known for the intrinsic beauty and formation of their pottery designs, and it's been a great ride watching our Year 5 students slowly bring their replicas to life!
Year 2 - Castles Fit for Royalty!
The first stage of Year 2's castles are now complete! Using a variety of recycled materials like cardboard boxes, egg cartons, toilet roll tubes and anything they could scavenge from their homes, our Year 2 students built the foundations for what we know will be some great royal architecture! It's a fantastic way to bring the topic of Magnificent Monarchs to life, because one of the most prominent features of any ruler is their palace.
Year 1 - Measuring and Maths Lessons!
Though we might view measuring things as a mundane activity ingrained into our daily lives, our Year 1 students loved estimating the various sizes of different things such as books, pencil cases and more. They worked together in discussing their discoveries which allowed them to enhance their teamwork and conversation skills!
Road Safety Workshop!
Road safety is always an important message to instil in children, particularly in Key Stage 1, and remaining alert and aware on roads is key in bustling urban areas. This week we welcomed the Riot Act, a road-safety awareness project who use theatre to deliver and promote powerful messages regarding staying safe on the road. "Muffin, Don't Get Squashed" was the workshop our Year 1 and 2 students participated in, and on all fronts the activity was a great success!
