Our Sponsored Readathon!
Instilling the love of reading is crucial to nurturing a child's imagination, their creativity, their reading proficiency and their writing. During this half-term holiday, our PTFA is introducing a sponsored readathon where our students are challenged to read as many books/chapters as they can! So read, record your sponsors, and raise as many funds as you can! Read. Record. And Raise! And feel free to join in with the children! Happy reading everyone!
Year 5 - Trip to the British Museum!
The British Museum is home to one of the largest and most comprehensive historical archives in the world, comprising of 8 million permanent pieces, and our Year 5 students were thrilled to take a trip down to Bloomsbury to view the Ancient Greek collection stored in the museum as well as taking a look at their Islamic History exhibition! And since we've got some Ancient Egypt topics coming up in the near future, we encourage all parents to visit these fantastic Islamic History displays over the half-term!
Year 2 - Making Castles!
As a follow up from last week, our Year 2 classes have started to make castles out of completely recyclable materials such as cardboard, paper and more, and though their creations may not yet be complete, they're already beginning to look like castles fit for royalty! We cannot wait to see how their end products turn out!
Number Day Fun!
It's been all about numbers this Friday where our students, in order to raise money for the N.S.P.C.C, exhibited a fantastic display of number apparel like headbands, football shirts and more! The initiative for Number Day begins with the NSPCC fundraising for children in need, and we thank everyone who's made a contribution! Here's a peek into each class's Number Day fun, from our youngest students in our Nursery class, to our oldest in Year 6!
Year 2 and 3 took their maths learning to the ICT suite where they enjoyed playing interactive games on the computers, and worked together to solve maths mysteries!
Even our P.E. lessons this Friday comprised of counting-related activities, ensuring that all our students got into the Number Day spirit! Not only did our students enhance their physical strength during P.E. but also their mental capacity for solving maths problems in record time!
Our Year 3 students combined Maths and Literacy in the most creative way possible - writing number-centric stories easily-digestible for our Nursery class! From designing striking covers to writing the contents themselves, this was a fantastic way to explore all the curiosities that numbers can bring!
Snakes and Ladders, counting cards, sudokus and other fun number games were met with so much excitement from our Year 4 students, who enjoyed working in groups or pairs to complete brain-teasing challenges!
