This week, Year 2 have been getting hands-on with their maths learning as they explored fractions and amounts using cookies and cubes. By sharing cookies into equal parts and using cubes to represent different quantities, the children developed a clearer understanding of halves, quarters, and how amounts can be divided fairly. This practical approach made the learning both engaging and meaningful, helping to build confidence as they applied their knowledge to real-life contexts. It has been wonderful to see their enthusiasm and growing understanding throughout these activities.
