Year 8 & 9 Pupils visited the Sky Skills Academy as part of a hands on experience which enabled pupils to create their own TV content. Pupils worked in groups using their media literacy skills to research facts for their own news report at Sky. Pupils began by exploring how presenters speak, considering the type of language used for a news report. During stage 2, pupils discussed the difference between fact, rumour and opinion. Pupils selected a Studio role; from Editor to Producer, Presenter, to Expert guest. After scripting and filming, all groups worked together in their own studio's to compile a Sky TV report on the challenges of Cyber Bullying. The trip was an amazing opportunity to inspire and develop pupil creativity, collaboration and communication.
