As part of their topic 'Frozen Kingdom' this half-term, year 6 visited the National Maritime Museum, Greenwich and went on an epic adventure with Tom Crean, hero of three trips to Antarctica. Next, they explored the Museum’s new Polar Worlds gallery to discover how famous explorers including Scott and Shackleton explored the Antarctic and battled to survive. The children were then given a unique opportunity to develop their imagination and historical enquiry skills with the aid of the museum’s unique archives. Overall, year 6, staff and parent volunteers thoroughly enjoyed the trip!
