Year 6 explored the life and work of Loïs Mailou Jones, an influential American artist and educator who played an important role in the Harlem Renaissance. Inspired by her vibrant colours, bold patterns and distinctive artistic style, the children created their own beautiful pieces of artwork, drawing on the techniques and ideas they had explored. Their finished creations showcased a wonderful range of creativity and individuality, while helping them appreciate the contributions of an important Black artist.
