Our goal at Barnet Hill Academy is to raise young children in a safe and secure environment in line with the ethos and principles of Islam, and focused around our tripartite vision of: Faith, Excellence and, Knowledge.

Revocation: Notice from the Chair of Governors

It is with great regret that we write to announce that despite the positive outcome achieved by Barnet Hill Academy working with key stakeholders including parents and carers, the local Muslim community, local businesses and Barnet Council we have not been able to translate the positive decision into a Voluntary Aided, Islamic faith state-maintained school. Unfortunately, this is due to the inability to secure the conditions set out in the decision relating to the site. 

The Governing Board thank all of the incredibly supportive stakeholders, well-wishers, and parents who have worked tirelessly to support the V.A. proposal to date. The Governing Board are also thankful for the extensive support offered by Barnet Council, it's Directors and officers who have supported the application process throughout leading to the original positive decision and outcome.

Decision: Barnet Hill Academy Voluntary Aided (V.A.) School

We are proud to announce that commencing from 4 September 2023, Barnet Hill Academy will be classified as a Voluntary Aided school, as part of Barnet's state maintained sector. This is a fantastic milestone for Barnet's Muslim community and will help to secure further diversity in the provision of schools across Barnet through the addition of an Islamic faith school. With a steadily growing trajectory of Muslims in the borough, our aim with this proposal was to make education within an Islamic ethos school more accessible and attainable for the wider community. Hence we are delighted that Barnet Council has arrived at the decision to approve the schools V.A. application subject to some conditions, viewable via the link below.
