Islamic Studies

At BHA we aim is to provide sound Islamic education through the Islamic Studies curriculum in a caring environment nurturing future generations in becoming confident Muslims prepared for life in modern day Britain. We do this by ensuring we provide a spiritual learning environment modelled on the Sunnah of our beloved Prophet Muhammad S.A.W. This is achieved by empowering our students to take personal responsibility for themselves, their environment and others in the community – as true flag bearers of the Ummah.
Our curriculum includes an clear focus on the development of Faith - Iman, Knowledge - Ilm and, Excellence - Ihsan. This ethos includes the teaching of Islamic studies, an aspect of our curriculum which is delivered through timetabled lessons, the school climate and ethos, assemblies, lesson themes or topics, daily congregational prayers, weekly Friday khutbah books and resources, amongst a host of other ways to ensure our curricular goals and ethos is achieved.
Years One through to Six have three lessons of Islamic Studies and one lesson of Arabic each week. In addition, there are weekly Nasheed (Islamic songs) lessons.
Islamic Studies is a subject area which can be supported at home and online with the correct resources, continuing learning and developing your child/ren's knowledge; we have attached useful resources below for parents to use at home, many provide a fun and enjoyable way for learning Islamic Studies.
